Roanoke Island – CBS News’ The Early Show will broadcast live from Roanoke Island Festival Park on Thursday, July 12 from 7- 9 a.m. Visitors are encouraged to come to the Park’s Outdoor Pavilion to greet the world with signs and smiles! Gates will open at 6 a.m. and there is no admission charge to the Outdoor Pavilion for the broadcast which ends at 9:00 a.m. Admission will be charged for the remainder of the day. Limited Parking will be available at RIFP, Downtown Manteo, in the front parking lot of Manteo Elementary School and at the Roanoke Island Campus of the College of the Albemarle, all just a few blocks away.
Weather anchor Dave Price will showcase the Outer Banks’ attractions and activities and will do part of his live broadcast from the deck of the Elizabeth II, the Parks representative 16th century sailing vessel. Additional live broadcasts will occur on the stage at the Outdoor Pavilion, home of the North Carolina School of the Arts Summer Performance Festival. Price has been the weather anchor and feature reporter for CBS News’ The Early Show since July, 2003. In addition to his forecasts and reports, he can often be seen entertaining crowds live on the plaza outside of the CBS studios.
