CBS News’ The Early Show Live At Roanoke Island Festival Park On July 12

The public is invited to join in national morning show broadcast from Manteo
(MANTEO, NC) July 3, 2007 –

Join the cast and crew of CBS News’ The Early Show on Thursday, July 12 at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo. The popular morning news program seen by millions is coming to the Outer Banks as part of the network’s Great American Vacation series. Weather anchor Dave Price will showcase popular Outer Banks attractions and activities, highlighting what makes the barrier islands of North Carolina such an exciting place to visit and live. Everyone is invited be a part of The Early Show audience. Bring your homemade signs, bring the kids, and get ready to wave to the world! The show airs live from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The public will be able to enter the gates of Roanoke Island Festival Park at 6 a.m. There is no cost for admission, and everyone is encouraged to come out and be part of the fun. There will be costumed interpreters in Elizabethan era attire demonstrating period dance, and the program will feature the workings of the 16th century representation sailing vessel Elizabeth II. The Outer Banks is known for its wind, and Dave will learn to fly a kite, and kites will be available for public participation.
Dave Price has been the weather anchor and a feature reporter for CBS News' The Early Show since July 2003. In addition to in-studio forecasts and reports, Price can be seen entertaining crowds live on the plaza outside the CBS studios. Dave Price is hittin’ the road this summer to reward one lucky recipient on the Great American Vacation itinerary with a week-long trip to the Caribbean!
