PATHWAYS STUDENT WELCOME FAIRE-June 27, 28, 2007

The following is submitted information. If you want to submit a story just click this link: http://outerbanksproductions.com/contactus2.html

WOW! The last 30 days have been incredible – we are definitely setting records at Pathways. The activity is far above previous years and nothing is ever certain except change! We try to remain flexible and anticipate how to handle the needs effectively. We are reminded that this is a ministry and God is in control as we look for divine connections and direction.

This year instead of having the welcome dinner we are having a welcome faire. We hope to have more time to establish and develop relationships with some of the students. We have already identified many who we believe God has put on our heart and in our path. The atmosphere will be much like a picnic or country fair. We will have music, some live and at other times via a DJ; Magic Mike. It will be held at Pathways and we will have the use of the Presbyterian Church kitchen and fellowship hall. We will also have canopies and tables out on the grounds between the two buildings. We selected the time frames based on student flow at Pathways and shift changes at their place of work. We are trying to provide opportunity for as many as possible to attend. We will also have some transportation assistance, which we are still working through.

Activities and information tables are lined up and we need help in several ways; set up, knock down and clean up; monitoring the kitchen, food, and fellowship hall at the church; manning tables and handling the Pathways building activity. We will need at least 12 to 15 people each day. We also need help Monday and Tuesday distributing announcements to the students at their place of work and some of their houses. This is really fun and easy to do!

We gave announcements about the faire to many of the churches asking members to bring food next week. We hope to get a lot of home cooked or baked food that will be easy to eat while standing or walking around. So if you can make something, we sure would appreciate it! We will also have some food from Food Lion; hot dogs, sausages, potato salad, fruit, drinks, snacks, etc.; they will also provide paper and plastic ware.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to help in any way. We need as many of you as possible to be there one or both days and however long you can stay. We want to have interaction with students to learn more about them and for them to learn more about us, Pathways, and why we do what we do.

Above all fellow workers, please pray for the Pathways ministry, the students, and our each other. The challenges are great this year.

Every time you pass our building let it be a reminder to pray:
Protection, peace, love, compassion, discernment, wisdom and joy as we serve the Lord and help others. We are thankful that you have a heart for the students and that you serve as you can.

We hope to see every one of you next week!

Blessing and joy,

Nancy
