Highway 12 on Hatteras Island North of Rodanthe Reopened
Road Status Subject to Changing Conditions
According to NC DOT, NC Highway 12 on Hatteras Island between the Bonner Bridge at Oregon Inlet and the village of Rodanthe has reopened to all traffic. As periods of high tide approach early this afternoon and again early Wednesday morning, DOT will continue to monitor road conditions to determine whether the road will remain open. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.
Ferry service between Hatteras Island and Ocracoke Island has resumed today according to the Ferry Service. For up-to-date information on the NC Ferry System dial 1-800-BY-FERRY. For road information, NC DOT asks that you dial the phone number 511. You can also visit http://www.ncdot.org/ for information on roads and ferries.
